I don’t usually reblog, but I was going to post this anyway. Magical animation by Sean Pecknold for one of my favourite songs from Fleet Foxes latest album Helplessness Blues, The Shrine / An Argument.

That is of course, when I’m not in them! Climbing inside this tower was one of the worst experiences. The view of Oxford was breathtaking, but I was very very scared to appreciate it at the time! But now I can appreciate the photos.

Another place that I loved in Oxford was the infamous Turf Tavern! The secret pub that’s not a secret anymore, but maintains some of the mystery since it’s not easy to find if someone doesn’t actually take you there! Luckily Stav did, and I’m glad we went!
The Turf is a popular but well-hidden historic pub in the centre of Oxford and it’s been around since the 13th century. It was originally called the Spotted Cow but changed its name in 1842, probably because there was a lot of gambling going on. Nowadays it’s a meeting place for a lot of students from the Oxford University and the Oxford Brookes University! Running along one side of the pub is one of the remaining sections of the old city wall.
It’s also known for it’s many famous customers over the centuries, people such as C.S. Lewis, Oscar Wilde, Ben Kingsley and as rumour has it Bill Clinton among many others!
It had a great selection of Ale, which I loved, but sadly I didn’t get to try their food!
The things I liked most about it was all the custom made signs with fantastic lettering and really nice illustrations! there were a lot of them but here are a few

And also apart from the pub inside there are 3 outside areas that are heated so you can sit outside even if it’s cold!! Over all really nice pub!
